Dermal Filler - Teosyal

10

Prices From £199

• Nasolabial lines (between the nose and mouth)
• Marionette lines (‘smile lines’ in the corners of the mouth)
• Glabellar lines ( between the eyebrows)
• Depressions and blemishes (such as acne scars)
• Dermal Fillers can also be used to enhance your lips

Dermal fillers are injectable fillers made from a natural component of our skin which acts to hydrate, maintaining skin elasticity and tone. They are injected just below the surface of the skin and act by 'plumping' out deeper lines and wrinkles.

What type of Dermal Filler is used?
Teosyal fillers are used by Advanced Aesthetics, which are made from Hyaluronic acid. This is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate the skin and add volume. Unfortunately it diminishes with age, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds.  Teosyal works to correct this by adding volume to facial tissue thereby restoring a smoother appearance to the face.

How do these treatments work?
A simple injection is placed under the skin at dermis level with a very fine needle, replenishing the skin’s natural volume. As Teosyal contains a local anaesthetic, the injection causes minimal discomfort and no additional anaesthetic is necessary.

How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, and the results are immediately visible.

Are there any possible side effects?
Occasionally some people may experience symptoms such as slight swelling, bruising, redness, itching or tenderness in the treated area but these reactions are quite normal and usually disappear within one to six days.

How long do the results last?
Results of this treatment are immediate and the effects can last up to a year. The duration of the effect varies with each individual. The treatment is non permanent and the filler is absorbed naturally over time, so it's your choice when to have further treatment to maintain the effect.

Derma Roller Treatment

Prices from £250

Dermaroller:  Few treatments can boast the success, simplicity, and ease of the Derma Roller. A specially designed surface fitted with minute surgical micro-needles is applied to your skin, stimulating the production of natural substances which refresh your skin. The method is known as skin needling, and has become extremely popular
The Derma Roller makes use of an amazing technology called skin needling, during which the roller’s micro-needles stimulate the deeper layers of your skin, encouraging the production of an important substance called collagen. Collagen is important to the healthy and youthful appearance of skin, and when produced as a result of Derma Roller, you can see a dramatic effect on a number of conditions. These include scars including acne scars, wrinkling, stretch marks, and hair loss or thinning. These are skin problems that can and affect anybody anywhere, and having a quick and simple method of dealing with these issues means that you don’t have to suffer the blows to your self-confidence that can walk in hand with not being happy with your skin.

Effectiveness of Derma Roller in conjunction with other treatments

The unique mechanism by which Derma Roller works enables it to augment the effects of other treatments delivered alongside it. The roller works by making tiny perforations in a deeper layer of skin called the dermis, and this act of microscopic perforation allows for the better uptake of cream or liquid skin treatments, giving your skin the chance to make the most of them. Derma Roller can also be provided alongside other skin care treatments, especially a prescriptive skin care regime.  Julie will walk closely with  your Beauty Therapist to design a skin care regime especially for you. Derma Roller been shown to ensure that your Skin Care Regime works deeper and is more successful as well.

Sclerotherapy (Thread Vein Removal)

Sclerotherapy

Prices from £200

Sclerotherapy is a treatment option for thread veins in the legs – a common problem that, although harmless, often causes distress as the sufferer can feel self-conscious particularly when the veins appear on an exposed area of the legs. There’s no need to suffer with this embarrassing condition – Sclerotherapy is a safe, effective and painless procedure to treat the problem so that when summer comes you’ll have beautiful vein-free legs you’ll be proud to show off!

Factors leading to thread veins include genetics, weight gain, prolonged standing and hormonal fluctuations associated with pregnancy, birth control pills and HRT treatment.

Thread veins usually appear very near the surface of the skin and are red, blue or purple in colour and less than 1 to 2 mm in diameter. They are not regarded as a serious medical issue but can sometimes ache.

Thread veins are most common on the face and legs, however sclerotherapy is only used for treatment of veins on the legs due to the small risk of scarring, we can recommend other treatments to treat thread veins on the face.

Treatment of more serious, deeper varicose veins is generally considered to be a medical matter and not one for a cosmetic surgeon and so patients are often referred by their GP to a vascular (vein) specialist.

How does Sclerotherapy work?

A chemical solution or sclerosing agent is injected at several points along the veins. A solution known as sodium tetradecyl sulphate is generally used which irritates the lining of the veins, which in combination with compression after treatment causes the vein walls to collapse. Over time the body absorbs the veins and the appearance is significantly improved resulting in more youthful, smoother looking legs.
